First we will enjoy Spring! Today is the first calendar day of Spring, Spring!! Here at Lost Creek we have waited for the first few days of warmth, those hope filled days where we turn our faces to the sun and blink, like animals who hibernate through the long winter! Wait!!! That is us, we do hibernate.
We have dreams of driving down hot, dusty roads; through cornfields, past watery ditches, along side meadows of wild flowers. We have dreams of mailboxes standing sentry at the end of lanes. We have dreams of warm days and nights, with stars shining outside our tent door, and the sounds of laughter at nearby campfires.
We love the Fort Sisseton Historical Festival. We love the beautiful countryside, the wonderfully restored fort, the June weather. Every spring we head just a little west for days of revisiting old friends, the Swanson’s, the Patrick’s, the McCaffre’s, and more. The festival has lots to offer, art, mountain men, soldiers cowboys, wagons, , campfires, and fun.
Right about now we dust off our cook books, start practicing our biscuits and inventory our supplies. Maybe this year y’all can come out and join us for a good time!
Change is in the air, a positive resolution to counteract the cold! We are once more changing our website. (I rearrange furniture all of the time as well) Stay posted for more changes, and take a peek at what has been done today.
We always get one, it never fails. A new year I mean. We received one even in the year 2000. No matter what happens, time moves along,
The New Year is traditionally a time for fresh starts, celebrations, resolve, and deep breaths. Let the future come, we are ready for it.
Our life here at Lost Creek has changed; we have moved, we have retired, we have added more chuck wagon teaching to our roster, are heading back into the world of commerce for J Ts goods, we have made a commitment to dedicate ourselves to a bit of growth, and we hope to always improve, always inspire, always kick out and move!
We wish for you the same, A year of blessings and aspirations, a year of positive change and love.
From Lost Creek to You! Happy Tidings and Great Cheer!
